Hand signals for patrols are extremely useful when it is pivotal for a fire team to traverse an area in total silence. This skill set should be a priority for any unit because it enables the unit to communicate over longer distances in complete silence. This creates organization and promotes stealth greatly which can greatly increase the effectiveness of a combat unit. One of the first things that can give your position away is your voice, so hand signals takes one more set of dangers out of the equation. Every group should incorporate hand signals of their choosing that they see most useful for their specified mission. Check out this video in order to get an idea of the basic hand signals. We thoroughly teach a wide range of hand signals during our MilSim tactical standard course. Check it out!
