The advanced standard course takes the skills from the Basic Standard Course and builds on them to enable the survivor to have more skill sets in order to increase their bushcraft comfort and understanding. This is the second class in the Wilderness Survival Certification Series and is a difficult class in itself because of the demands put on the student. The course is 100% taught in the field with hands on training and there is no class room lecture time at all! It is a physically intensive course that will push the average person’s limits and give them a real taste if they have what it takes to truly survive in the wilderness on their own skills!

 


Subjects Covered Include:

-Advanced shelter building/ wickiup or wigwam

-Advanced primitive water procurement

-Primitive Hand drill and modern methods for fire building

-Clay Pottery and Vine Containers

-Camp Craft and Bushcraft Cooking

-Advanced primitive trap building

-Advanced primitive Fishing traps

-Animal Tracking

-Wild edibles and medicinal plants/As we move about the property instructors will explain the uses of a variety of plants.

 

Itinerary

Day 1- Students will build an advanced primitive shelter in a group setting, that will later be used to sleep in during the last two days of the survival scenario training. We will also begin harvesting clay for primitive pottery making.

Day 2- Water procurement training, primitive pottery making, we begin doing the elusive hand drill!

Day 3- A complete day of food procurement skills covering: wild edibles/medicinal plants, animal tracking, advanced primitive traps, and fish traps.

Day 4- Students will begin survival scenario training! You will have the choice of 5 items from your survival kit to choose from and you will have to survive in a group environment for 48 hrs with no food or equipment outside the 5 chosen items.

Day 5- Second day of survival scenario training! All students will procure all their own food and water directly from the land for both days. Instructors will help guide students and participate in every part of the scenario! Throughout these two scenario days you will be required to complete other tasks un-related to your current survival needs.

 


The advanced standard is the second part of a 3 part Wilderness Survival Certification series of courses that will transform the average person to a highly skilled survivalist in a short amount of time. If you have not taken the Basic Survival Standard then you will have to be approved by the Founder to participate in this course. Just Contact Us for approval of your skills! This course is typically held on normal weekdays because students will need 24-48 hours rest before returning to normal work schedules. You will be physically drained and should be prepared for difficult conditions, inclement weather, bugs, hazardous plants, and animals. NOTE: Each student will receive either a certificate of completion or our a Official Sigma 3 Survival Advanced Certification if you can pass the tests throughout the course. Check the requirements for more info on becoming certified!
